This programme of work revolves around engagement with international fisheries management bodies (RFMO’s). Oceanic Sharks make up 34 species of some of the best known, charismatic and wide-ranging species, which are particularly vulnerable to overfishing on the high seas. As observers to these UN-backed bodies, we scrutinise scientific reports, support development of proposals by parties (countries), advocate for adoption at conference of parties and then monitor implementation and compliance.
