Most of our conservation work is funded by grants and foundations. It's vital that we have funds to support our projects and campaigns. Yet to exist and function we need core income. The stability core income provides also enables us to work on longer-term projects.

Due to the nature of our work we have to think and plan long term. Making positive change at policy level (where it most counts) is often a long and laborious process. It took 10 years of campaigning to strengthen the EU finning ban!

We have the know-how, connections and sheer dogged determination to create positive change for sharks. And, with your kind contributions, you enable us. By becoming a member, donating, fundraising, adopting a shark, or buying something from our Shark Shop you’re making a difference.

Each year we submit a detailed financial report to the Charity Commission, who are responsible for regulating UK charities.

PROJECT INCOME

The largest part of our income is from “restricted funding”. This is provided by grants, foundations, trusts and business sponsorship, and funds the delivery of specific projects.
